Obituary of Kerry Elizabeth Mahoney

Kerry Elizabeth Mahoney passed away October 26, 2023 at her home in Shelton, WA. Kerry was born October 6, 1957 in Quincy, Massachusetts to Harold and Theresa Mahoney. Her memory is carried on by her two sister's, Kathleen Karlin (Garland, TX) and Margaret Mahoney (Shelton, WA) and her beloved daughter, Patricia Reinke Porter and son in-law, Frank Porter (Lacey, WA). She also is survived by her two bonus daughters/ nieces and their families, Mariah Falin (Everett, WA) and Sherry Smelser (Olympia, WA) as well as her Aunt Frances Davin (Tampa, FL) and myriad of cousins. Kerry graduated from Broward Community College in 1979 as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Kerry dedicated 45 years of her life helping others by providing home health in her community . She was a lover of romance and historical fiction books, gardening, road trips, animals, and her family. Let's not forget her love of rocking out to Meatloaf! Kerry had an infectious laugh and a quick sarcastic sense of humor. She had a tough little exterior that covered a heart so full of love for her family and close friends. Kerry recently retired and had dreams and aspirations of starting her own business of growing herbs and plant starts to sell at her local farmers market. She was an enthusiastc quilter and had plans to complete the hundreds of projects she had begun. She was a lover of golden retrievers and always had her companions at her side. Kerry's passing was sudden and unexpected. She was cremated and there will be more information for a celebration of life to come. Kerry is dearly missed and will forever be in our hearts.
